Blade
Made of 1084 carbon steel, the blade keeps an edge longer than a stainless steel blade and is easier to sharpen. Less time sharpening, more time cutting. It will patina with age and achieve its own character. The upward curving tip is very sharp and perfect for piercing skin. The continuous curve in the belly of the blade provides a much larger cutting surface where you cut most. The blade has a 3/4 grind and the edge is sharpened to an angle of 17 degrees. A full tang integrates the blade into the handle and makes it tough.
Handle
The handle material for this knife is typically wood - befitting its traditional look and feel. However, there may be some micarta or composite knifes appear from time-to-time. All wood has been stabilised - meaning it has been infused with resin and heat treated to ensure that the handle does not warp, twist or crack. This knife is comfortable to use and it has an integrated finger hold. Two small brass pins hold the handle together and finish it off.
