Wedding Cake Knife
Hand crafted wedding gift.
This hand crafted knife has been specially designed for cutting wedding cakes but it is much more than that. It is a keepsake that can be used every day as a kitchen or carving knife.
The handle can be engraved with the bride and grooms names on the facing side and the wedding date on the reverse side.
The knife will arrive beautifully packaged in a branded wooden box.
Functionality
This knife has been designed by Game Valley Knives and Perfect Wedding Planning. We believe it is the perfect size and weight for cutting the cake on the special day. It has a nice weight to it and it will have no problem cutting the cake!
Handle
The traditional white/cream handle material is a resin composite mix. It is very tough and won’t warp, twist or crack. The handle is comfortable to use. Two beautiful silver, gold and copper mosaic pins bond the handle together and finish it off nicely. Due to supply inconsistencies the handle material colour and grain may vary slightly from what is shown in the pictures.
Blade
Made of 1084 carbon steel, the blade keeps an edge longer than a stainless steel blade and is easier to sharpen. It is a multi-use blade that can do vegetables and carve roasts. The blade will patina with age and achieve its own character, however, it can be easily restored to shiny new if required. If it has been purchased as a wedding knife it will age gracefully with the marriage!
The cutting edge is sharpened to an angle of 17 degrees. A full tang integrates the blade into the handle.
Engraving
Engraving is is an optional extra. The bride and groom names are engraved on the left hand side of the handle and the date of the wedding is engraved on the right side. You can specify the colour of the engraving at checkout. Options are gold, silver and black.
